Different Lines

Two and a half years ago my friends in Zerre released their debut LP, which I really, really liked. There are some fine songs on Our Inner Wastelands and I still listen to the record on a regular basis. So when I was told that they were going to release new songs, I was really looking forward to it. And they didn't let me down. Actually they've taken a really big step forwards musically in my opinion. The music is more metal-influenced, but it's not too much for my taste. There are also some rather surprising elements in some songs. It's always cool to see friends progress. 300 copies on white vinyl. The band self-released the LP, so they get 100% on the DIY factor, too.

Cluster

One of my favourite bands from the last few years is Kids Insane from Israel. So news about a new LP made me pretty happy. Sadly, when the record arrived, it turned out to be not as good as I had hope for. I liked their previous material a lot better. At least, on record that is. I saw them live a few days after I got the record and live the new songs worked really well. What a fun show that was.
200 copies on white vinyl. There are also 300 copies on red vinyl.

Full Speed Ahead

You can't stand on one leg, and picking up just one record by a band when you can get two, also makes no sense. At least in the head of a record collector. 3rd press with different sleeve. I love the My War Records stamp.

Body Bag

One of those bands I've meant to check out for a long time, but only managed to pick up some of their records recently. Debut 7" by Rain On The Parade. This press was licensed by It's Alive Records. 500 copies on red vinyl.

Made My Choice

And I opted for the yellow vinyl. Didn't have any copy before, so going with one that matches the cover very nicely was a no-brainer.

Skate Edge Hardcore

Can't go wrong with classic combinations, part II. Record release edition of the Reaching Forward and Ensign split featuring nice skateboard related artwork.  As you can see, the record is limited to 150 copies. 100 were used for the record release edition, which comes with white artwork. Mine is #26/100. The other 50 copies on blue come with silver artwork.

Skate Tuff

Pizza and cheese. Falafel and hummus. Apple and cinnamon. Skateboarding and hardcore. Can't go wrong with classic combinations. Oh, and the music is pretty good as well.

The Bout Of The Century

Good split between two good '90s bands. Can't even say which side I like more. The red vinyl goes nicely with the cover.

Growing Bluer

For the last few months this feels like a joint blog operation. A buddy of mine is thinning out his collection, I get dibs on the records because he sends me the pictures as one of the first people and as a result a large percentage of the records you can see here used to be his. I call it the 'circle of record collecting'. So, among other things, I decided to upgrade my black copy of the Growing Stronger compilation. Hold on, you may say, is a coloured 2nd press copy really an upgrade of a black 1st press copy? I say, yes. Why? Because the blue vinyl looks just so pretty cool with the white and blue sleeve. Besides the coolness factor, there are also fewer of them. Others may disagree. I welcome your input.
